What it does
DayBar displays the local date and reminders in the menu bar, with easy access to the calendar, events, and Apple Calendar sync. It integrates calendar and to-do features into a simple, beautiful status bar menu.

Not a bad way to see Calendar items, Reminders, and Holidays in place. You can also create task items and reminders in the app itself. There is a condensed view of the monthly calendar, although clicking or right-clicking does not create an event. This would be handy. However, you can jump to the Reminders or the List area, where you can make new ToDo list or set dates for items. This is a good way to create simple tasks or lists without cluttering the Calendar. Once the items are complete, they can be checked.Oddly though, all the "imported" days seem to be off by one. Cinco de Mayo is on the 4th, and Memorial Day is the 24th. I was at FB/Meta from late 2013 to early 2023, mostly working in the compiler/runtime spaces. I got hit in the spring 2023 layoff wave. i wanted to change the habit of reaching for my phone in the morning and doomscrolling away an hour so i built an app to help me. now i have to literally touch grass before accessing my most distracting apps the app is built in swiftui, uses the screen time apis provided by apple and google vision to recognise grass or not i'd love to get your thoughts on the concept.
