DeepHermes 3
Intuitive responses and deep reasoning, in one model
DeepHermes 3 launched on February 18, 2025 with 111 votes, #355 of 5,999 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
DeepHermes 3 from Nous Research is a Llama-3.1 8B based LLM with a toggleable reasoning mode for complex tasks. Combines fast responses with deep, chain-of-thought reasoning.
We’re on a journey to advance and democratize artificial intelligence through open source and open science.
DeepHermes 3 Preview is the latest version of our flagship Hermes series of LLMs by Nous Research, and one of the first models in the world to unify Reasoning (long chains of thought that improve answer accuracy) and normal LLM response modes into one model. We have also improved LLM annotation, judgement, and function calling. DeepHermes 3 Preview is one of the first LLM models to unify both "intuitive", traditional mode responses and long chain of thought reasoning responses into a single model, toggled by a system prompt. Hermes 3, the predecessor of DeepHermes 3, is a generalist language model with many improvements over Hermes 2, including advanced agentic capabilities, much better…from huggingface.co

Llama 3.2 Interpretability with Sparse Autoencoders2024 · github.com · ▲579I spent a lot of time and money on this rather big side project of mine that attempts to replicate the mechanistic interpretability research on proprietary LLMs that was quite popular this year and produced great research papers by Anthropic [1], OpenAI [2] and Deepmind [3]. I am quite proud of this project and since I consider myself the target audience for HackerNews did I think that maybe some of you would appreciate this open research replication as well. Happy to answer any questions or face any feedback. Cheers [1]…

LLM Gateway2025 · llmgateway.io · ▲296I built an OpenAI-compatible LLM gateway that routes requests to OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama, vLLM, llama-server, SGLang... anything that speaks /v1/chat/completions. Single Go binary, one YAML config file, no infrastructure. It does the things you'd expect from this kind of gateway... semantic routing via a three-layer cascade (keyword heuristics, embedding similarity, LLM classifier) that picks the best model when clients omit the model field, weighted round-robin load balancing across local inference servers with health checks and failover. The part I think is most…

I was at FB/Meta from late 2013 to early 2023, mostly working in the compiler/runtime spaces. I got hit in the spring 2023 layoff wave. I immediately started making games in my newfound free time (a lifelong interest, and I even worked in AA(A?) back ca. ~2000), and in October 2023 I stumbled upon the idea of a roguelike pachinko/plinko game inspired by Luck Be A Landlord. Things snowballed quickly, I started talking to publishers, then worked like crazy through all of 2024, almost the hardest I've ever worked in my career, and launched the game in December 2024. It's sold…

i wanted to change the habit of reaching for my phone in the morning and doomscrolling away an hour so i built an app to help me. now i have to literally touch grass before accessing my most distracting apps the app is built in swiftui, uses the screen time apis provided by apple and google vision to recognise grass or not i'd love to get your thoughts on the concept.
