diagram.now

Free browser diagram editor that imports Gliffy and Lucid

diagram.now launched on August 6, 2026 with 4 votes, #2,153 of 23,274 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches.

What it does

A diagram editor that opens straight in the browser - no account, nothing to install. Import Gliffy, Lucid, Visio VSDX, SQL, CSV or Mermaid; export PNG, SVG, PDF, XML, JSON or a share URL. An optional Confluence app is available.

Start drawing free with diagram.now: flowcharts, UML, BPMN, ERD, mind maps, AWS/Azure/GCP architecture, network diagrams, and wireframes in your browser. Use diagrams in Confluence when your team is ready.

Vendor terms forbid redistribution, so diagramsnow does not fetch icon packages on your behalf. Imported SVGs are stored only in this Confluence space. Start with a built-in diagram or add a public template library URL. Public template libraries support same-origin or secure https:// diagramsnow JSON/XML and can be shared with ?templateLibrary=U... links. Search labels, tags, tooltips, and custom metadata across the current page or the whole diagram, then jump straight to the matching shape. Assign case-sensitive tags to the current selection. Separate tags with commas or new lines. Show or hide tagged shapes in this browser session without changing the saved diagram. With Mathematical…from diagram.now

  • Diagram as code tool with draggable customizationsOct 2025 · github.com · ▲266

In the past I've used declarative diagram generation tools like Mermaid.js a lot for quickly drawing up things but for presentations or deliverables I find that I have to then move the generated diagrams over to a tool like Lucidchart which allows full control of the organization and customization. Therefore I am now working on this to combine the benefits of both into just one tool which can do both functions. The project is certainly in the early stages but if you find yourself making architecture diagrams I'd love to hear your thoughts on the idea or even a Github issue for a feature…

This is a recent addition to Vexlio which I think the HN crowd may find interesting or useful. TL;DR: easy creation of interactive diagrams, meaning diagrams that have mouse click/hover hooks that you can use to display pop-up content. The end result can be shared with a no-sign-in-required web link. My thought is that this is useful for system docs, onboarding or user guides, presentations, etc. Anything where there is a high-level view that should remain uncluttered + important metadata or details that still need to be available somewhere. You can try it out without signing up for…

  • Visimer – open-source visual editor for Mermaid diagramsAug 2026 · github.com · ▲17

Hi HN, Nick here, founder at OpenKnowledge. We built an open source library, Visimer, for editing Mermaid diagrams with a what-you-see-is-what-you-get visual editor. Try the playground at https://visimer.com/playground. You can rename labels, change shapes, add new nodes, etc. by clicking and dragging the visual canvas. We set out to build this originally for OpenKnowledge, our markdown wysiwyg editor, then realized it’d be great to share it as a proper embeddable component library so that other apps can leverage it as well. Our general take is that AI is great for generating…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

  • Hey HN, We recently built Clipto. It’s a tool that lets you search over terabytes of video, audio, and images on your computer, without relying on the cloud. Motivation: we probably all had this similar experience, we know a moment exists in a video or audio, but finding it takes hours scrubbing the timeline. You can send all the media to process in the cloud, but it’s slow, expensive and raises privacy concerns. So we decided to build our own on-device media search engine. How it works (high level): 1. We ingest video, audio, image; normalize formats via ffmpeg; run content analysis to…

  • Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…
