What it does
DockCV is a native, local-first CV workbench. Every section can hold several variants, presets switch between them, and an embedded Typst compiler renders the real page as you type. No account, no cloud, just a folder of plain TOML files you own.
A native desktop workbench that keeps your CV as plain TOML: named variants per section, presets that re-tailor the whole document, a block library that knows which CVs use it, a diary of what you actually did, an applications board that stores the PDF you sent, and Typst typesetting straight to PDF. DockCV keeps your CV as plain TOML on your own disk and typesets it to a proper PDF with an embedded Typst engine. Keep a variant of each section, switch preset per application, and stop maintaining nine near-identical copies of yourself. It also remembers what you did this year and which version of you got answered. Also on Windows and Linux . The macOS build is Apple Silicon. cv-final.docx, cv-final-2.docx, cv-backend-v3.docx. A fix to one bullet has to be applied by hand to all of them, and eventually is not. One extra line pushes a section onto page three. Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
