When dealing with so many different articles and sources with the never ending bombardment of information I get lost a lot and can’t remember where I saved something or where in my browser history something was. This simple and sleek app fixes those issues for me. With the easiest shortcut ever it collects everything in place and has good metadata search so I can search for more than just the title to find what I am looking for. The developer is active on discord and always open to feedback which is nice when certain feature need a bit more polishing. 10/10 recommend. DoubleMemory started as an experiment to see if I can somehow automatically save all double cmd + c, as I often do instinctively, so I don't need extensions to save links and text into an app, and avoiding flooding the capture history as regular clipboard managers does. My motivation was not to create a read-it-later app, yet it evolved into this unique yet cohesive form of a read-it-later + bookmarking organizer + clipboard manager + card based note-taking app over the last 6 months. It also launches from the menu bar with a shortcut and navigates with keyboard shortcuts. My favorite part…

Hey HN, As a Software Engineer, I frequently copy and paste content. The fact that macOS clipboard buffer can keep only one item is very frustrating. It’s very annoying to copy → switch app → paste → switch app → copy → switch app → paste, and so on. Losing items I copied hours ago and having to find and copy them again is a waste of time. I tried many third-party clipboard managers like Alfred, Raycast, Paste, Maccy, etc. While great, they didn't fully meet my needs. As a developer, my requirements are: 1. Keyboard-centric operation to avoid using the mouse. I don’t want to waste my time…

I was at FB/Meta from late 2013 to early 2023, mostly working in the compiler/runtime spaces. I got hit in the spring 2023 layoff wave. I immediately started making games in my newfound free time (a lifelong interest, and I even worked in AA(A?) back ca. ~2000), and in October 2023 I stumbled upon the idea of a roguelike pachinko/plinko game inspired by Luck Be A Landlord. Things snowballed quickly, I started talking to publishers, then worked like crazy through all of 2024, almost the hardest I've ever worked in my career, and launched the game in December 2024. It's sold…

  • i wanted to change the habit of reaching for my phone in the morning and doomscrolling away an hour so i built an app to help me. now i have to literally touch grass before accessing my most distracting apps the app is built in swiftui, uses the screen time apis provided by apple and google vision to recognise grass or not i'd love to get your thoughts on the concept.
