What it does

Dynamic Notch is a native macOS app that turns the MacBook notch into a Dynamic Island. Park files, control playback, read your next meeting, pick a colour, run a timer. All of it without leaving the window you are in. Signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other Mac app. This one runs on a Mac. Send yourself the link and pick it up there. Recorded on a MacBook running Dynamic Notch 4.0. Nothing here is a mockup. Every screenshot below is a frame from Dynamic Notch 4.0 running on a real Mac. Nothing on this page is a mockup. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
