What it does
ECCN.help is an export control determination assistant. It walks an item through the same sequence a compliance officer would - jurisdiction first, then the Commerce Control List, then the Country Chart - and reports which rule decided, not only what the answer was.

ECCN.help walks an item through the same sequence a compliance officer would: jurisdiction first, then the CCL, then the Country Chart — and tells you which rule decided, not just what the answer was. Illustration only — a fixed example, not a live classification. Sign in to classify your own items. Walks an item to a Commerce Control List entry, asking only the parameters that entry actually turns on. Jurisdiction is settled first. An item on the U.S. Munitions List has no ECCN, and the tool says so rather than guessing one. I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role.
