What it does

A fast open-source browser agent. It reads every button, link and field on the page and has a System One model (ex: jev) pick the next step from that list. If it's unsure, it falls back to a standard model model. Fast, cheap, and every answer provides a citation.

Browser automation that returns cited answers or schema-validated data. Jev chooses from indexed page controls, and code controls credentials, spending and authorization.

Complete a workflow and get a result backed by quoted page text, with credentials kept out of model prompts. Run locally or in a cloud browser. Sign in as standard_user, add the Sauce Labs Backpack and Bike Light, check out as Ada Lovelace, finish the order and read the total. The password is passed by name. --secret password=SAUCE_PASSWORD resolves on the allowed origin only, and the value never enters a prompt. The controls a page offers are indexed into a list. Jev selects the operation and target from that list. Both products appear in the cart. The page is observed again before the next action is selected. The caller authorized the order with --authorize. Hey there HN! We're Antonio and Luca, and we're excited to introduce Smooth, a state-of-the-art browser agent that is 5x faster and 7x cheaper than Browser Use (https://docs.circlemind.co/performance). We built Smooth because existing browser agents were slow, expensive, and unreliable. Even simple tasks could take minutes and cost dollars in API credits. We started as users of Browser Use, but the pain was obvious. So we built something better. Smooth is 5x faster, 7x cheaper, and more reliable. And along the way, we discovered two principles that make agents actually work.…

I've built a browser agent harness that outperforms Browser Code on their own benchmark (BU Bench v1), on success rate, speed and cost. Browser Agent: 88% success rate, $5.37, 32,694 seconds Browser Code: 78% success rate, $8.34, 47,970 seconds For browser agents to become ubiquitous, they need to be faster, cheaper, and more reliable. The harness was built with token efficiency in mind (and uses 91% fewer tokens than Browser Code) to reduce the compute and VRAM budget necessary to fine tune a small, specialised model. Because browser agent inference is intermittent, a small specialised…
