Fiscal

I built Fiscal (fscl), a headless CLI for Actual Budget that's optimized for AI agents running in the terminal (Claude Code, OpenClaw, etc). It acts as an Actual Budget client, so it can sync with an existing Actual server. I built it because I wanted an agent-friendly way to handle repetitive budgeting work while still being able to review everything in the Actual web dashboard. Fiscal launched on February 26, 2026 with 3 votes, #3,486 of 16,627 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches.

Rich people have accountants. Now you do too. Fiscal is a personal finance CLI built for AI agents. It automates budgeting, bank imports, and spending analysis.

Fiscal lets AI agents like OpenClaw manage your budget autonomously. Your data never leaves your machine. No cloud, no tracking, no account required. Built on Actual Budget , a proven open-source engine. Budgeting, rules, and reports, all stored locally in SQLite. Every Actual Budget operation available as a CLI command. Structured JSON output designed for AI agents. Open-source Agent Skills that teach your AI to budget, flag overspending, and manage your money. Sync to an Actual Budget server to get a visual dashboard alongside your AI accountant. Drill into data whenever you want. Drop in a CSV, OFX, or QIF from any bank. Format auto-detected, duplicates caught, transactions categorized…from fiscal.sh

I've been using this daily for 4 months and figured others might find it useful. This is my first open source project so would love any feedback. Ray connects to your bank via Plaid, stores everything in an encrypted local SQLite database, and lets you ask questions about your finances in natural language. No cloud, no account, your data is stored on your machine. Before anything reaches the LLM, all PII is stripped — your name, companies, transaction details are redacted and replaced with tokens, then rehydrated locally in the response. The AI never sees who you are.

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on called Frugal Tokens. I originally built it because I was curious to see how much all of my sessions cost and how much cache misses affected that spend. I’d noticed people had widely different spend profiles and wanted to better understand what might contribute to that. As I’ve worked on this, the tool has grown to show more usage patterns across all of your sessions. It shows overall usage, estimated working time and overlapping sessions, and where your spend is coming from across models and cache misses. I also have a few session level…

Hi guys, am building SecureLend.ai and when working on our underwriting agents (free trial, paid after) I had issues with seamless payment options. Of course I looked at x402 which I believe is a great protocol but not a fan of a) sharing private keys with the agent b) having a human in the loop or c) similar workaround e.g. pre-funded wallets So I started building out a solution. For my use case it was important to not only have stablecoins but also a fiat rail which is now implemented using Stripe. Initially I build a mandate system internally but am very glad and big shoutout to the guys…

  • Hello my name is Ben Ward for the past 3 years I have been remastering the financial game Wall Street Raider created by Michael Jenkins originally on DOS in 1986. It has been a rough journey but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just recently redid the website and thought maybe the full story of how this project came to be would interest you all. Thank you for reading.
