FLOX – C++ framework for building trading systems
Finished my trading infrastructure project over the weekend - it’s called FLOX. Built in pure C++ (uses C++20 features), it’s a modular framework for building HFT systems, trading infra, market data feeds, or even something like a TradingView clone. Everything is open source: https://github.com/eeiaao/flox Docs: https://eeiaao.github.io/flox/ There are tests and benchmarks to keep it stable. Might add JS engine support later for scripting strategies. Open to feedback and contributions.

In plain words
FLOX is an open-source C++20 framework designed for building high-frequency trading systems, trading infrastructure, and market data applications. It offers modular components that developers can use to create trading platforms or market data solutions. The framework includes tests and benchmarks for stability and is available on GitHub with documentation. The creator plans to add JavaScript engine support for strategy scripting in future updates.

AI-native framework for building trading systems with polyglot bindings. - FLOX-Foundation/flox
FLOX is an AI-native framework for building trading systems. Strategies, backtests, paper trading, and live execution sit behind one toolkit. AI agents discover the surface and drive it end-to-end through an MCP control plane. One strategy class runs backtest, paper, and live. Bindings for Python, Node.js, Codon, embedded JavaScript, and a stable C API. Documentation is available at flox-foundation.github.io/flox All bindings expose the same strategy API, indicators, order books, backtesting, and data I/O. The C API is the integration point for adding support for any other language. flox-mcp is a Model Context Protocol server that gives AI coding agents (Cursor, Claude Code, Cline) grounded…from github.com

Flox 1.0 – Open-source dev env as code with Nix2024 · github.com · ▲382Hey HN, I'm Ron Efroni, CEO at Flox, and today we are releasing version 1.0 of our open source CLI, helping folks manage development environments everywhere. My own experience with development environments began with air-gapped systems, having to actually burn software to a CD to iterate over a very slow and expensive development cycle, sometimes reaching the server rack and realizing I have the wrong disk.... Fast forward to today and there are countless alternatives available backed by incredible compute resources, yet we somehow still find ourselves paying the price of long development…

Flox2024 · flox.dev · ▲375Hey Everyone! Ron here, part of the NixOS Foundation and building Flox. Just coming out of this years NixCon and pretty excited to show hn below :) As of today, NVIDIA officially recognizes Canonical, SUSE, CIQ, and Nix—via Flox—as supported distributors for CUDA. Full blog - https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/developers-can-now-get-cud... This is a huge win for the Nix community. For years, CUDA on Nix was possible but painful—builds could take hours, and redistributing prebuilt binaries was blocked by NVIDIA's licensing requirements. NVIDIA's growing engagement with key…

- FLFactorio Learning Environment – Agents Build Factories2025 · jackhopkins.github.io · ▲749
I'm Jack, and I'm excited to share a project that has channeled my Factorio addiction recently: the Factorio Learning Environment (FLE). FLE is an open-source framework for developing and evaluating LLM agents in Factorio. It provides a controlled environment where AI models can attempt complex automation, resource management, and optimisation tasks in a grounded world with meaningful constraints. A critical advantage of Factorio as a benchmark is its unbounded nature. Unlike many evals that are quickly saturated by newer models, Factorio's geometric complexity scaling means it won't be…
Investorsexchange.jl – parse trade-level stock market data in Julia2022 · github.com · ▲136Backstory: I wanted to play with intraday stock data but couldn't find a free dataset anywhere. IEXCloud [1] offers API access to 1-minute granularity intraday historical price data, but I was worried that it could get expensive or unwieldy to build up a substantial dataset via API calls. Plus, IEX gives out their raw data for free. I probably should have just used the IEXTools python library [2] to parse IEX's raw data dumps, but I was working on a Julia project, so it felt more thematically appropriate to build a new tool from scratch. I haven't been actively using InvestorsExchange.jl a…

Talanoa▲343Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
