What it does
Flunkey is a voice-first productivity tool for Windows that turns spoken thoughts into text, useful actions, and remembered context wherever you work. It is similar to Wispr Flow but has an AI feature which you can use to easily ask questions. It is really productive for students, researchers, and people who use a lot of context and is a general-purpose tool that you can use for your day-to-day lives.

Flunkey is free voice dictation for Windows 10 and 11. F8 dictates, F9 answers, F10 rewrites. Hold F8 and speak, then choose Verbatim, Light, or Enhanced cleanup. Use on-device Whisper or a cloud speech provider; Enhanced can apply instructions for the active app. Hold F9 to ask by voice, or press Ctrl+F9 to open the panel and ask about a selected screen or app window. Screenshot analysis needs a vision-capable model. Select any text, hold F10, say what you want — “make this formal”, “shorten”, “translate to German” — release and the selection is replaced in place. I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy.
