Forensic evidence of iOS mesh networking bypassing Airplane Mode

I found evidence of autonomous mesh networking on iOS during Airplane Mode. What am I missing? Did forensic analysis on my iPhone during Airplane Mode isolation. Kernel stats show 2,657 packets transmitted and 84.5MB processed through mDNSResponder while interfaces report "inactive". Found a parallel utun2 tunnel bound to IDS framework that persists during isolation. Applied Shannon-Hartley theorem to verify the channel capacity supports this volume. Either I'm misunderstanding legitimate system behavior, or this is a covert channel. Reproducible steps and raw evidence included.…

    A toy version of Wireshark (student project)2025 · github.com · ▲265

Hi everyone, I recently published a small open-source project. It’s a minimal network packet analyzer written in Go — designed more like a learning toy than a replacement for Wireshark. It currently supports parsing basic protocols like TLS, DNS, and HTTP, and includes a tiny fuzzing engine to test payload responses. You can inspect raw packet content directly from the terminal. The output is colored for readability, and the code structure is kept simple and clear. The entire program is very small — just about 400 lines of Go code. I know it’s not anywhere near Wireshark’s level, and I still…

I write an iOS app to intercept all HTTP/HTTPS Traffic (Beta Testing)2021 · ▲9

Hi everyone, after months of hard-working, I'm glad to have something to show HN. It's an iOS app to help you directly capture and intercept HTTP/HTTPS Traffic from your iPhone/iPad with ease. It's suitable for any developers who would debug iOS without needing a computer. You can also share all traffic to Proxyman macOS via AirDrop for better previewing. - Please join a beta in TestFlight (iOS 14+): https://testflight.apple.com/join/nQ69eb35 - How it works if you don't have any devices: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpzpoTN8efM&feature=youtu.be…

Hey HN! I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents. I didn't write a single line of code. Of course no-code doesn't mean no-engineering. This project took a lot more manual labor than I'd hoped! I wrote a deep dive on the workflow and some thoughts about the future of AI coding and creativity: http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc
