Free and Open Source book to teach Firefox OS app development

Hey Friends, I always considered doing a show HN about this but never took the jump but since we're in the Show HN carnival I decided to share it. I wrote a free and open source quick guide to teach Firefox OS application development. With this ebook you go from zero to a little application in the Firefox Marketplace. https://leanpub.com/quickguidefirefoxosdevelopment/ I created this to give away at hackathons and hack days because the Mozilla docs were spread all over the developer hub, mdn and the wiki so it was hard for new developers to find what they needed. What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

Hey Friends, I always considered doing a show HN about this but never took the jump but since we're in the Show HN carnival I decided to share it. I wrote a free and open source quick guide to teach Firefox OS application development. With this ebook you go from zero to a little application in the Firefox Marketplace. https://leanpub.com/quickguidefirefoxosdevelopment/ I created this to give away at hackathons and hack days because the Mozilla docs were spread all over the developer hub, mdn and the wiki so it was hard for new developers to find what they needed. The guide has been quite successful and has about 8.000 readers right now counting the Portuguese and English versions. I am currently finishing a new book that is focused on teaching game development for Firefox OS, this will also be free and open source. There is a hotsite at leanpub about it: https://leanpub.com/buildinggamesforfirefoxos/ you can register to receive the updates about the release. For those that would like what other books related to this new platform are available on the web I created a site devoted to Firefox OS books at http://firefoxosbooks.org We at the Mozilla Community believe that the Web is an important public resource that should be protected and evolved. Firefox OS is a step in bringing the powers and freedoms of the Web to the mobile ecosystem. It has a huge potential and I could go for hours about why it matters. I hope this book will help people curious about developing for the platform. Cheers

    I made a book with a hundred UI/UX tips2021 · ▲198

Hello. This year I dived into UI/UX area and at the same time I work as a web developer. I sincerely love making good UI. But at my full time job it's not always possible due to different reasons =\ So I've been posting random UI/UX staff on Twitter, then I made a free book that had 50 tips (posted it here as well). I decided to finish this year by collecting everything I learned and here it is: https://akcium.gumroad.com/l/ui-ux-tips. This time it's a paid one. But, you can check ~20 pages of it, just go to…

    Lurnby, a tool for better learning, is now open source2022 · github.com · ▲162

I've been working on Lurnby for 2 years. It's kind of like a mix of pocket + kindle + anki. It lets you => add add epubs, pdfs, and web articles to the app => highlight and add comments => tag and organize highlights => review them with a spaced repetition system Today I made the decision to open source the project. I'm passionate about helping other people learn to learn better and hope that this will allow a lot more innovation in the tool and the space. I'm very new to open source and development in general really, but looking forward to receiving the guidance of the community.
