freehire
The open-source job search that covers every board
What it does
Job search is broken — every platform is a walled garden with its own exclusive listings. FreeHire is a search engine for jobs: it indexes 3M+ live jobs from 98 ATS platforms and other aggregators into one fast, deduplicated search. Open source, free, no lock-in — and API-first, so an AI agent can search the whole market for you. The goal: make all the world's job data easy to find, for everyone.
Search 3M+ tech jobs indexed straight from company career boards — deduplicated and tagged by stack, seniority and location. Free, open source, no walls.
Point your AI agent at freehire and let it find you a job. A CLI and an MCP server over the whole job API — no browser. Indexed from company career boards, deduplicated, and tagged by stack, seniority and location. Free, open source, no walls. One binary, no Go needed. Ships agent skills too, so Claude Code and any MCP host can run the search, read the facets and move an application along. curl -fsSL https://freehire.me/install.sh | sh What it does Source Apply where you already are. A job-application agent in Chrome's side panel, next to the posting you are reading — on any site, not just the ones freehire tracks. We couldn't check your fit for this role — add a CV to your profile to see…from freehire.me

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
