GDSL – Extending the compiler down to memory and up to the web
What it does
GDSL is the name for my stack, it used to mean Golden Domain Specific Language, back when this was just a basic compiler for button behaviour in my game engine (Golden). Now GDSL is quite a bit larger, and still growing, but the name still sticks! This isn't really documentation, it's more of an explanation of the elements and systems at play for the curious. Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers.
