Ghostpipe – Connect files in your codebase to user interfaces
Hey HN! I built Ghostpipe because: 1. I like to keep data about my software in the codebase and under version control. 2. I don’t like always working in raw text files with domain specific languages (eg Terraform, Openapi, er diagrams). Ghostpipe is an open source tool that creates a bridge between files in your codebase and applications using webrtc. This lets developers work with user interfaces where appropriate, while still having access to the underlying raw text files. A few side-benefits to this setup are: 1. AI agents are good at working with local text files, so we can keep using…

What it does
Connect files in your codebase to user interfaces. Contribute to inputlogic/ghostpipe development by creating an account on GitHub.
npm install -g ghostpipe ghostpipe https://excalidraw.ghostpipe.dev Open the link and draw something. Ghostpipe uses yjs and webrtc to connect codebase files with applications. Chokidar is used to watch for file changes locally. Connected applications use pipe and signaling query params to connect to yjs over webrtc and read the file contents. ghostpipe https://excalidraw.ghostpipe.dev # Will prompt for file or create one ghostpipe https://swagger.ghostpipe.dev api.yml # Connect api.yml to Swagger interface Configuration-based Usage Use interfaces defined in configuration file: ghostpipe # Uses ghostpipe.config.json or ~/.config/ghostpipe/config.json ghostpipe --verbose # Enable verbose…from github.com

GhostBox – Borrow a disposable little machine from the Global Free TierMay 2026 · ghost.charity · ▲126I built this because I was always creating machines on GH actions to test builds on different OS, and I wanted a tight CLI that could do it. I always saw Actions as this great resources and ephemeral machines you could do dev work in just were a natural way for me to work, so this grew out of that workflow. I didn't expect it to blow up, so it wasn't 100% finished when I posted it. But it should stabilize pretty quickly. Happy to know what you think and talk about it.

- PAPipenet – A Modern Alternative to LocaltunnelJan 2026 · pipenet.dev · ▲114
Hey HN! localtunnel's server needs random ports per client. That doesn't work on Fly.io or behind strict firewalls. We rewrote it in TypeScript and added multiplexing over a single port. Open-source and 100% self-hostable. Public instance at *.pipenet.dev if you don't want to self-host. Built at Glama for our MCP Inspector, but it's a generic tunnel with no ties to our infra. https://github.com/punkpeye/pipenet

- CAChatGPT and Document Parser = Ghost2023 · ghostextension.com · ▲57
I've always wanted to just upload a whole book to ChatGPT and ask questions. Obviously with the char limit that's impossible... So some buddies and I built Ghost. We have it limited to 5 pages for uploads for now, but plan on expanding the limit soon. Let me know what you guys think!

The site hit #1 on HN about a year ago. Got enough traffic that I turned it into a proper API. What's there: - REST API — 35k products, manually filterable by category, free key, 60 req/min - CLI — npx anycrap random -c food - faker.js plugin — bundled, no API call, works offline - HuggingFace dataset — full 35k rows for ML/training https://anycrap.shop/developers

I made a built-from scratch Wayland Compositor to display any GUI app* in the terminal! I think there is a lot of unexplored potential in custom Wayland compositors, a lot of really cool things you can embed existing applications into! So, I started with embedding apps into the terminal because that is the easiest input/output (output is just utf-8 and I use the great `chafa` library for that, and I just read from stdin for the input). If you have any other ideas for cool Wayland compositors, let me know. I purposedly wrote 80% the app in Typescript to appeal to the most developers and…

Years ago I stumbled across a basic version of this concept and it stuck with me. I knew if I was ever going to take on such a project, it would need to be flawless, but without coding experience it was just another idea that would never happen. By the end of 2024, as AI coding tools exploded everywhere, I finally had a way to make it real. I started from zero knowledge and spent months collaborating with AI agents as a learning experience. Every pixel and every function went through me. The AI translated what I asked for into code, but every decision was human. I didn't use existing OS…
