What it does
this's a big project I made for 8 months.A mesmerizing interactive experience sent from the stars. 'Gift From Other Planet' combines physics-based fluid simulation with real-time generative audio to create a living, breathing alien world. - CoolMartinBonk/Gift-from-other-planet
Gift From Other Planet is an interactive generative art application built from scratch with C++ and SDL2 . It combines physics-based fluid simulation with real-time procedural audio synthesis to create a mesmerizing audio-visual experience. Every movement creates its own unique sound. Touch the fluid, listen to the math, and explore a symphony of light and chaos. Note: SDL2 libraries are included in the libs/ folder, so no external installation is required. mkdir build cd build cmake .. cmake --build . --config Release The executable will be generated in the build/Release/ folder. For Linux distributions and macOS, a unified build process is supported. # Configure and Build cmake -S . -B…from github.com

Little Procedural Pixel Worlds2022 · jason.today · ▲227Took a break from the falling sand simulation blog posts this week to work on another small project. It's a little pixel world generator- each time you visit, you'll see a new little world. I really like this stuff and had a blast building it yesterday!

I really like the look of the famous album art for Unknown Pleasures [1]. It was originally created by Harold Craft at the Arecibo Observatory from the signals of the first discovered radio pulsar [2]. I made a spectrogram that produces a similar look. It runs FFT in Rust and visualizes it with WebGL. [1]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:UnknownPleasuresVinyl.jpg [2]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSR_B1919%2B21
A solar system simulation in the browserDec 2025 · luna.watermelonson.com · ▲13I didn't realize Universe Sandbox ran on MacOS, and I was in the mood to play around a bit. Some functions it's got: - Random system generation - Sonification is super fun too - Habitability Simulation (Just for fun, don't cite this please) - Replacing, spawning, deleting objects I've had tons of fun building this, so I hope someone else can share the joy. It's free and runs in the browser. I'd love to hear any feedback. I think this is at a state where I might leave it as it is, but if people are interested in other features, maybe I'll keep working on it. I've kept saying I'll stop working…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hey HN! I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents. I didn't write a single line of code. Of course no-code doesn't mean no-engineering. This project took a lot more manual labor than I'd hoped! I wrote a deep dive on the workflow and some thoughts about the future of AI coding and creativity: http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc
