Golang HTTP Clients/Servers and Alternative Networking

Hello everyone! I was poking around GoLang's HTTP/networking capabilities to see what things I could do. Turns out it is pretty easy to insert your own networking stack into HTTP clients and servers.

In plain words

This project demonstrates how to integrate custom networking stacks into Go's HTTP clients and servers. It's aimed at Go developers interested in networking architecture and those needing alternative transport layers for HTTP communication. The key feature is showing the flexibility of Go's HTTP implementation, allowing developers to swap out the default networking stack with their own customized version.

Hi everyone, I recently published a small open-source project. It’s a minimal network packet analyzer written in Go — designed more like a learning toy than a replacement for Wireshark. It currently supports parsing basic protocols like TLS, DNS, and HTTP, and includes a tiny fuzzing engine to test payload responses. You can inspect raw packet content directly from the terminal. The output is colored for readability, and the code structure is kept simple and clear. The entire program is very small — just about 400 lines of Go code. I know it’s not anywhere near Wireshark’s level, and I still…

    A sample project for Golang2018 · ▲57

I have been using golang at work and personally for more than 2 years now. A problem i faced when I started and the problem new gophers even today is how to structure the project. Most (if not all) golang tutorials seem to be very simple and do not describe how to structure a large application. Following project is an attempt to Showcase a manageable project layout for services in golang. https://github.com/spy16/droplets This project is far from complete. Would like to hear some feedback from the community before continuing on this.

    I wrote a book about using Lambda with Go2021 · ▲103

Hi HN! During the last few years, I worked on a few applications built with Go, running on AWS Lambda. As I got to know the platform better, I started to find Go & Lambda to be a really productive combination. The applications were fast, and they ended up being much cheaper to run than what my team & I had built before. It’s probably not the best platform for _every_ application, but I was surprised at how much of our workload worked well on it. As we brought new engineers on to our team and helped them get up to speed with the stack, I found that we were covering a lot of the same topics…

  • A couple of years ago, I had an interesting idea. What if there was a marketplace where all the underlying tech was open-source? The order management system, the storefront, customer support, etc. The marketplace would simply connect to the seller’s infra instead of locking them in. If, for some reason, the seller is removed from the marketplace, their software stays with them and they can continue accepting orders directly. This model can be used to disrupt any marketplace from AirBNB to UberEats: building tech for home renters and restaurants and later, leveraging that to build a competing…
