Greenbar Clearing
Reconcile faster. Close with a defensible audit trail.
What it does
Greenbar Clearing is a locally run desktop bank-reconciliation tool built for audit-ready closes. It auto-matches thousands of bank and ledger lines, surfaces only the exceptions that require judgment, and records every period with a named sign-off and complete audit trail — giving bookkeepers, small firms, and owner-operators a more controlled, traceable alternative to spreadsheets and built-in matching in QuickBooks Online or Xero.
You approve the bank rec. The software does not decide. Clearing is bank reconciliation for bookkeepers and small firms, on your computer, with no account. The trail is a record of what you signed.
Bank reconciliation on your computer. It proposes matches. You approve. No account. Optional US bank feeds via Plaid are available on Pro, opt-in, and off by default. Solo reconciles from CSV or Excel. Live two-way QuickBooks Online and Xero sync is not shipped; file import works today. Runs on your computer. No account. Your books stay on your machine. An illustrative close in Clearing, using demonstration data. Even if the file moves this month, the bank rec still has to close. Clearing is the leftover you sign on that rec, from the CSV or Excel you export — from Desktop, from Online, or from whichever books you can still export while the move is unfinished. Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
