Backend interview prep in real repos, not algorithm puzzles

What it does

LeetCode trains you for algorithms. Real backend rounds hand you an unfamiliar repository and ask you to find the bug and make the tests green. Gronex is practice for exactly that, in your browser, with no setup. Java, Python, Node.js and C++. Concurrency races, database incidents, API contract bugs, heap dumps and GC logs. Free problems run without an account.

Practice real backend interview repositories: implementation, database engineering, heap and thread-dump debugging, GC-log analysis, concurrency, and API failures in Java, Python, Node.js, and C++.

LeetCode trained you for algorithms. Real backend rounds hand you an unfamiliar repo and ask you to find the bug and make the failing tests green. Practice exactly that — in your browser, no setup — across Java, Python, Node.js and C++, from concurrency races to database incidents and runtime failures. $ ./verify.sh PASS OrderServiceTest.createsOrder PASS OrderServiceTest.appliesDiscount FAIL OrderServiceTest.processesConcurrentCheckouts expected inventory: 0 actual inventory: -7 ← race condition 2 passed, 1 failed Find the bug. Fix it. Make it green. For hiring teams Gronex for Teams — run live technical interviews on real repository problems. Learn more → Why this is different Practice…from gronex.org

    Leetcode but for front end devs (terrible idea?)2022 · vacation-call-335691.framer.app · ▲8

Howdy friends! Tell me if this is an atrociously terrible idea - I've been working on building a leetcode for clientside devs so we can practice React and Javascript interview questions in a more concise way, I call it clientside.dev I just finished a beta version of it yesterday and plan on releasing it with many more problems on Jan 1st but it's there if you wanna play with it open to any ideas / feedback however mean or nice it may be :)

You write a standard solution, just like on LeetCode, and run it through the CLI. It identifies the problem by ID or title, executes your code against local test cases, and shows the result. It currently supports around 1000 problems and multiple languages, including Python, C++, Rust, Java, Go, TypeScript, Swift, and others. The project is still an MVP. System design, SQL, and concurrency problems are not supported yet, but support for more problem types is planned. Made in Haskell!

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
