Habits Monitor

Your daily habit companion with streaks & insights

What it does

Most habit trackers cap free habits at 10, charge for sync, or lock stats behind a paywall. Habits Monitor does none of that. Unlimited habits, flexible scheduling (daily, weekdays, N×/week), streaks that never cap, a calendar heatmap, and 14-day planning — all offline-first with optional encrypted cloud sync. ~6 MB. No account required. Built with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose & Material 3.

Offline first. No accounts, no trackers, no subscriptions. Each one solves a problem I actually had. Data stays on the phone. No account to create, nothing to sync, nothing to leak. No analytics SDKs, no ad profiling, no third-party data sharing. Ever. Free to use, with a single small purchase if you want the ads gone. Nofrom sercoj.space

Hello. I was looking for a simple and clean habit tracker. I went through a few apps but felt they were missing something. I also had some time on my hands, so decided to make my own and share it in case anyone else likes it. Some of the supported features: Streaks based, track and beat your longest streaks Fully useable offline Freezes (similar to Duolingo's streak freezes) Visual map for tracking consistency Pause the app when you need a break or will be away For anyone curious about the tech stack: - React for frontend - Dexie cloud for storage and syncing - Vercel for hosting Link:…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
