Hello, World in many different languages

A small site created to see the hell world example in many different languages. I got tired of sites which only showed 10-30 languages. I'm sure there are some inaccuracies (some languages are not I languages per se).

Hello, World in many different languages launched on May 3, 2026 with 10 votes, #1,220 of 20,538 launches that month and more than 90% of that year's launches. The site was not reachable when checked in September 2026.

In plain words

This site displays "Hello, World" code examples across a comprehensive collection of programming languages. Created for developers who want to explore language syntax beyond typical reference collections, it aims to showcase far more languages than conventional sites. The creator acknowledges some entries may include non-programming languages and potential inaccuracies, but the resource serves as a broad reference for comparing how different languages handle the classic introductory program.

  • Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
