I built a solcial-media-inspired fitness App
Hi Hacker News! I'm Jarne, a student and software developer, and I have developed MyGainplan for the last 2 years. When I started working out, I realized that it is quite hard to keep varying training plans. I know that it is recommended to change your training plan every 2–3 months in order to prevent muscular imbalance and other injuries. Besides that, some little changes help to stay motivated on a long fitness journey . After endless searching for free workouts or training plans, I had the idea of MyGainplan. What it does
In the maker’s words, at launch
Hi Hacker News! I'm Jarne, a student and software developer, and I have developed MyGainplan for the last 2 years. When I started working out, I realized that it is quite hard to keep varying training plans. I know that it is recommended to change your training plan every 2–3 months in order to prevent muscular imbalance and other injuries. Besides that, some little changes help to stay motivated on a long fitness journey . After endless searching for free workouts or training plans, I had the idea of MyGainplan. The main idea of MyGainplan is to allow users to share their experience and profit from each other. MyGainplan guides you through your workouts, tracks your progress and keeps you motivated to train. When it comes to discovering new workouts, MyGainplan allows you to search for unique and different workouts created and uploaded by other users. With that, changing your training plan becomes a breeze - And it's totally free! No payments, no subscriptions, no advertisements! I am so happy to say that I have now launched on iOS and Android. I would love to get some Feedback from the first users in order to make MyGainplan even better! - ISI spent 2 years building an iOS app no one asked for2025 · basamasa.github.io · ▲7
i built a heart rate zone training app for runners. ios + apple watch. custom zones, real-time haptics, post-run graphs. all the “smart” stuff you’d expect. but i never talked to a single runner before building it. not even myself lol. started as a thesis → kept building → added features → added a paywall (€4/month!) → launched it → and yeah… no one cared. zero feedback. zero users. just code in the void. i recently made the whole thing free. not trying to “sell” anything now — just seeing if it’s actually useful, and listening this time. curious how others handle this. ever build…

- SHSimple HIIT timer for efficient workoutsJul 2026 · hiitmeup.fit · ▲8
Hi HN community, As a busy techie with kids and other family obligations and my recent health diagnosis, I wanted an efficient way to integrate workouts in my daily routine and my research indicated that HIIT/Tabata style routines fit that requirement much better than a dedicated long running/planned workout routine. I made a simple PWA to help me with that endeavor that I have found useful and hoping some of you may like it as well. No sign ups needed but you can sign in if you'd like to save custom presets and history/progress. You may also enjoy some of the fitness…

Hey there HN! We’re Joe and Stopa, and today we’re open sourcing InstantDB, a client-side database that makes it easy to build real-time and collaborative apps like Notion and Figma. Building modern apps these days involves a lot of schleps. For a basic CRUD app you need to spin up servers, wire up endpoints, integrate auth, add permissions, and then marshal data from the backend to the frontend and back again. If you want to deliver a buttery smooth user experience, you’ll need to add optimistic updates and rollbacks. We do these steps over and over for every feature we build, which can…
