This dashboard is a personal project I've developed to visualize every wind farm's energy production across Ireland. I'm trying to break into software development/data analytics sector and I wanted to build a project to practice my coding. I wanted to build a novel project rather than following along to a basic YouTube video project and not really learn anything. I'm interested in the renewable energy sector and after browsing the web noticed there isn't any public data on real time wind energy production in Ireland. I took the task onto myself to attempt to build a dashboard that solved this issue. It was a painful task at the start. I had very little coding background and I felt swamped by the sea of information out there. I didn't know where to start. I didn't know what tools to use or how to even approach a project like this. I didn't understand how I was going to make the dashboard interactive and how I was going to get my data to the user, how to store the data or how to even get the project online (if I could get that far). But after many many hours of development and a steep learning curve I finally created something I'm proud of. I can't say it's the sleekest project and under the hood there is definitely a lot of code that's janky, but on the surface it does what I set out to do! Hi HN, https://companies.bx.tc My colleague and I put together this tool for easily searching UK company data. We run a few server side batches daily to extract data from various government sources before linking it all together in (what is now) a fairly large database. We're also using this project as a way to test out a new JS UI library we built (similar to Vue, but a bit faster) to see how it stands up in a real project. Looks like this year ePaper projects have been popping around[1], so this is mine. I made a photo frame with the intention of having a record of my family's history that can potentially outlive me.
