I built an old photo restoration tool using the Flux Kontext

Hi HN, I created a photo restoration tool using the Flux Kontext model, and the results have been surprisingly good. It can restore old photos, fix scratches and damage, and even colorize black-and-white images — all in just a few seconds. It's currently completely free to use. Would love to hear your feedback!

Hi HN, After spending some time with the new `flux kontext dev` model, I realized its most powerful capabilities aren't immediately obvious. Many people might miss its true potential by just scratching the surface. I went deep and curated a collection of what I think are its most interesting use cases – things like targeted text removal, subtle photo restoration, and creative style transfers. I felt that simply writing about them wasn't enough. The best way to understand the value is to see it and try it for yourself. That's why I built FluxKontextLab (https://fluxkontextlab.com).…

FLUX.1 Kontext is a new image editing model from Black Forest Labs. It is the best in class model for editing images using text prompts, and the latest addition to the FLUX.1 family. In our tests we’ve found Kontext to give accurate and brilliant results. It’s better and cheaper than OpenAI’s 4o/gpt-image-1 model (and there’s no yellow tint). There are three models, two are available now, and a third open-weight version is coming soon: FLUX.1 Kontext [pro]: State-of-the-art performance for image editing. High-quality outputs, great prompt following, and consistent results. FLUX.1…

    I'm an airline pilot – I built interactive graphs/globes of my flights▲1,539

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

  • Workout.cool – Open-source fitness coaching platform▲827

I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
