I’m writing an ebook version of the Tao of tmux
A couple of years ago, I written an intro to tmux (https://tmux.github.io/) inside tmuxp's (https://github.com/tony/tmuxp) documentation called The Tao of tmux (https://tmuxp.readthedocs.io/en/latest/about_tmux.html). I'm in the process of turning it into a feature book. I am aiming for a December 23rd, 2016 release and am plugging away full time. I make it available to read on the web for free at https://leanpub.com/the-tao-of-tmux/read. The GitHub is at…
What it does
In the maker’s words, at launch
A couple of years ago, I written an intro to tmux (https://tmux.github.io/) inside tmuxp's (https://github.com/tony/tmuxp) documentation called The Tao of tmux (https://tmuxp.readthedocs.io/en/latest/about_tmux.html). I'm in the process of turning it into a feature book. I am aiming for a December 23rd, 2016 release and am plugging away full time. I make it available to read on the web for free at https://leanpub.com/the-tao-of-tmux/read. The GitHub is at https://github.com/git-pull/tao-of-tmux. For pre-ordering: - The Leanpub page (updated on a regular basis) is https://leanpub.com/the-tao-of-tmux. - Amazon Kindle: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MG342KU - iTunes: https://geo.itunes.apple.com/us/book/the-tao-of-tmux/id1168912720 Also I have a coupon for pre-orders @ $7.99 https://leanpub.com/the-tao-of-tmux/c/oBsI4y3o4quu. So there are 2 other books available in the now. I prefer my style of writing about tmux and teaching, since I maintain a few open source libraries for tmux I bring my own perspective along. Also I'd rather stay away from publishers, again, I prefer a book that's available for free to read on the web, DRM-free if you pay, and not have to worry about printing :). It's my first book ever so I feel a lot of pressure to get it done right. I'm definitely open to feedback and requests to add things. I feel a duty to make a really good book for the community. Any help to spread the word is much appreciated!

Hi, Last year I began a book for learning tmux called The Tao of tmux. It is based off a free resource originally part of the documentation [1] of tmuxp, a tmux session manager [2]. I made it available for free online at https://leanpub.com/the-tao-of-tmux/read. Since February of this year, I have incorporated suggestions and feedback from readers on quality and completeness of the book. For one, I have passed the book through a professional editor, as well as rounded out chapters with summaries and even added 3 new sections, including: - Sending keys to tmux, aka…
- IMI made a book with a hundred UI/UX tips2021 · ▲198
Hello. This year I dived into UI/UX area and at the same time I work as a web developer. I sincerely love making good UI. But at my full time job it's not always possible due to different reasons =\ So I've been posting random UI/UX staff on Twitter, then I made a free book that had 50 tips (posted it here as well). I decided to finish this year by collecting everything I learned and here it is: https://akcium.gumroad.com/l/ui-ux-tips. This time it's a paid one. But, you can check ~20 pages of it, just go to…
- FEFree e-book about WebGPU Programming2024 · shi-yan.github.io · ▲471
I am excited to announce the launch of my e-book on Graphics/WebGPU programming! This project has consumed much of my spare time, during which I developed various tools to facilitate the publishing process, including a code playground and a static site generator that can reference sample codes. However, I'm feeling burnt out and ready to call it finished, even though it may not feel completely done. Avoiding another abandoned side project has been my primary motivation in reaching this point.
- TCThe Cyber Plumber's Handbook – SSH Tunnel Like a Boss2019 · ▲277
Looking to get some feedback from the Hacker News community. I wrote the book with a focus on penetration testers and red teamers, but there are great examples for network admins, developers, and blue team defenders as well. You can pick up a copy for free here through May 19, 2019: https://gumroad.com/l/the_cyber_plumbers_handbook/hackernews... Please note, because it's hosted on Gumroad, it does require an email. If you don't want to give out your actual email, check out an anonymous email service. I give it away to students for free, so if you know of one that…
- IRI reverse engineered X to Read Threads without Any Account as Articles2024 · ▲59
Hi fellow hackers, I'm Ved, I came across the pain point of having a reader that could provide threads as articles after scrolling them many times and missing the context of the original info shared. To solve my itch I decided to build a thread reader without Ads(all existing sol. were full of them), since X/Twitter API was very pricey, I did some reverse engineering to convert rendered X.com/twitter pages to an API and host it in a VM (which obv. was dead cheap). All of your data is saved in LocalStorage. Including your comments and saved threads(there is a known issue with Linux…
TeXbrain, a LaTeX editor that runs pdfTeX in the browser via WASM12d ago · github.com · ▲118I'm a master's engineering student and a big fan of LaTeX, which I used for my thesis and research articles. I have used Overleaf and that was fine until I wanted to git sync, which unfortunately sits behind a paywall. Since I didn't want to pay subscriptions for things that should simply just work, I built the editor I wanted in my free time, where you open a tab, write LaTeX, get your PDF and the files stay all in one folder on my disk. TeXbrain is a static site with no backend. pdfTeX is compiled to WebAssembly (SwiftLaTeX) and runs in your browser. The editor can read and write your…
