I made a resistor calculator with TS+React
I made a resistor calculator with TS+React launched on December 30, 2023 with 20 votes, #853 of 3,780 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches.
In plain words
This is a resistor calculator built with TypeScript and React. It helps users determine resistor values, likely useful for electronics enthusiasts and engineers working with circuit design. The tool combines a modern web framework approach with practical electrical engineering functionality, making resistor calculations accessible through a web interface rather than traditional reference methods.

React for Circuits2024 · github.com · ▲197Hi HN! I've been working on a new way to build electronics/PCBs with Typescript/React, I'd love to know what you think!! I've wanted to program circuits for a long time- I started experimenting with the concept of creating circuits in React almost 8 years ago and have spent many weekends since to prove the concept. Over the past 2 months, I've decided to start working on tscircuit full-time.
While the world builds AI Agents, I'm just building calculators2025 · calcverse.live · ▲191I figured I needed to work on my coding skills before building the next groundbreaking AI app, so I started working on this free tool site. Its basically just an aggregation of various commonly used calculators and unit convertors. Link: https://www.calcverse.live Tech Stack: Next, React, Typescript, shadcn UI, Tailwind CSS Would greatly appreciate your feedback on the UI/UX and accessibilty. I struggled the most with navigation. I've added a search box, a sidebar, breadcrumbs and pages with grids of cards leading to the respective calculator or unit convertor, but not sure if…

A new calculator software cannot really bring attention (https://chachatelier.fr/chalk/) However, I wrote a full article explaining why I had to build something "new" that does not behave like usual desktop calculator softwares : TL;DR All "small" calculator softwares I know share the same design flaws. And the GUI is not the only stumbling block in their poor efficiency. Handling correctly numerical approximations - expected or not - is crucial to trust the results. It is usually not done in lightweight tools. It should. So I prove that if I could do it, OS manufacturers…

Hi HN! I’m proud to share that we have built a real 3rd party iMessage client for Android. We did it by reverse engineering the iMessage protocol and encryption system. It's available to download today (no waitlist): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beeper.ima and there's a technical writeup here: https://blog.beeper.com/p/how-beeper-mini-works. Unlike every other attempt to build an iMessage app for Android (including our first gen app), Beeper Mini does not use a Mac server relay in the cloud. The app connects directly to Apple…

Hey! I made Heynote entirely for my own use case. For many years, I always had an Emacs instance running with the scratch buffer open, even long after I had abandoned Emacs as my programming editor in favor of more recent IDE:s. The simplicity of having just one big scratch buffer appeals to me, but I still want to separate the different things I jot down somehow (without using tabs or similar). Previously, my solution was to insert a bunch of blank lines between the notes, but hitting C-A would still select the entire buffer. That's why I came up with the concept of "blocks", which turned…
