I made a slower, delayed Hacker News
I made a slower, delayed Hacker News launched on March 13, 2022 with 29 votes, #1,003 of 3,153 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches.
In plain words
Slowhn is a delayed version of Hacker News that republishes stories 30 days after they originally appeared on Hacker News. It's designed for people who want to follow technology and startup discussions without keeping up with the constant daily news cycle. The site lets users read older stories and their comments at a slower pace, making it easier to engage with content that has already proven relevant and interesting over time.

Hi HN. I was surprised that there wasn't a feature here that lets you go back in time to the front page of Hacker News on a random day...so I made one. http://randomhackernews.com is a simple HTML page that navigates you to the front page of HN on a random day between today and February 19, 2007 (the oldest date I could find with content). I made this for myself, but figured others may find some interest in it.
I made a search engine for Hacker News2024 · hackernews.demo.vectara.com · ▲211I love HN but always felt the search with algolia is okay but does have some limitations. Since I work at Vectara I decided to try and create a better search for HN. It's based on data from roughly the last 6 months of HN stories and comments. Would love to hear feedback and how useful this is relative to the existing search.
I made a modern web UI for Hacker News2022 · modernhn.com · ▲308Hey HN, I made this free browser extension that modernizes the Hacker News design. I previously launched Modern for Wikipedia [1] here back in December, and it seemed like the obvious next choice to build one for HN too! So I've taken what I learned from building that, and have spent all my spare time this year building Modern for HN. I realize this won't be for everyone, but it was a fun project to work on, and I'm really happy with the result so far. Hope you like it too! Lots more planned for future updates, and suggestions welcome :) [1]…

Hi HN! I made many small web games in the past with Unity or Phaser. But this time I wanted to make something completely on my own. So I coded a basic game framework in plain JavaScript, and used it to make Almost Pong. This was a really fun project that taught me a lot about JavaScript, and I plan to make more minimalist games with this framework. Interesting fact: Almost Pong doesn't load any assets, all sprites and sounds are generated with code. Happy to answer questions, and please let me know if you have any feedback on the game. Thanks!
