I made a solar-powered, ePaper photo frame
Looks like this year ePaper projects have been popping around[1], so this is mine. I made a photo frame with the intention of having a record of my family's history that can potentially outlive me. Knowing the challenges of long-lived digital projects, I consider this a moving target that will go through several iterations, but the first version showed encouraging results. Hi, this is a project I've been working on for about 2 months. I am definitely not a designer, so I tried to keep the GUI to minimum and really make the presentation about photos and as fluid as possible. Any feedback welcome! :)

Hi all, about a month ago my wife was complaining about how annoying all of the photo sharing services were. Either the UI was overly complicated or it would ask people to register for the service before they could view the photos, etc. So I decided to build something dead-simple that she could use. There are no frills. You just create an album and email it around. The link goes directly to the photos. Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. It's been a long slow hog and I almost gave up a few times (more than a few) but when covid hit this year it gave me some time to really focus on my product. There were stupid user journey things that I knew needed fixed. There were some features I knew needed added. And I knew the pricing was wrong. I spent some hardcore time working on these things back in March / April and since then my MRR has continued to grow.
