I made an AI that turn live lecture into structured notes,mind-maps,PDF
Hi HN, University lectures are long, dense, and fast-paced. Like many students, I used to record them thinking I’d revisit them later — but that never really worked. Even transcripts felt like raw logs. So I built [Notorium](https://www.notorium.app) — an AI assistant that records live lectures and automatically turns them into structured notes, flowcharts, and mind maps— within minutes after class. What it does: - Record lectures inside the app (in-person, live) - Transcribe using Whisper - Send the full transcript to LLM - Use a custom system prompt to: - Summarize the lecture -…

In plain words
Notorium is an AI application that records live lectures and automatically converts them into structured notes, mind maps, and flowcharts within minutes. Students can record directly in the app, which transcribes the audio and processes it through an AI system to summarize content, organize it by topic, and generate visual aids. The tool lets users download notes as PDFs, adjust complexity with simplify or expand options, and organize materials by subject for easy retrieval. It's designed for students attending in-person lectures who want to avoid reviewing long recordings and raw transcripts.

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
