In plain words

H2O is a web server released as version 0.9.0 that prioritizes HTTP/2 performance. It is designed for developers and system administrators looking to optimize server response times. The software demonstrates high throughput capabilities, handling hundreds of thousands of requests per second on multi-core systems, making it relevant for infrastructure planning as HTTP/2 adoption grows.

Nice work. Hope to see more improvements to H2O and the other projects as well. Meanwhile how hard would be for h2o to have a spdy3 compatibility mode to benefit from it right now ? I did some tests on a machine with 8 cores and it seems that it doesn't scale beyound 2 threads. On my test with ab on localhost it do not go beyound 260,000 requests by second when I increment the number of threads and it even goes bellow that mark. ab -n 500000 -c 1000 -k http://127.0.0.1:8020/ Server Software: h2o/0.9.1-alpha1 Server Hostname: 127.0.0.1 Server Port: 8020 Document Path: / Document Length: 180 bytes Concurrency Level: 1000 Time taken for tests: 2.122 seconds Complete requests: 500000 Failed…from blog.kazuhooku.com

Hello HN, I’m one of the creators of ServBay. I built this because I got tired of the cognitive load required just to start coding. On my Mac, it was a fragile mix of Homebrew services and asdf conflicts. On Windows, managing PATH variables and fighting with Docker Desktop's resource usage was equally frustrating. I missed the simplicity of the MAMP/XAMPP era, but I needed to support modern stacks (Go, Rust, Node, etc.). What it is: ServBay is a native local development environment for both macOS and Windows. It is not a wrapper around Docker or VMs. It bundles everything you need into…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
