Iran Collapse

Composite Regime Stress Index

What it does

Iran Collapse is an independent open-source intelligence project that measures pressure on the Iranian regime in real time. It aggregates twelve verified data sources, weights them transparently, and publishes the result with every source named.

An independent OSINT index of pressure on the Iranian regime, built from twelve live indicators and updated every ten minutes.

One email when the threshold is crossed. Nothing else, ever. Double opt-in, one-click unsubscribe, never shared. This is a measure of pressure on the regime : not a probability that it falls, and not a countdown. A reading of 72 does not mean 72% likely. Weights are set by judgement, published in full, and every source is named and timestamped. Iran Collapse is an independent open source intelligence dashboard that publishes a composite 0 to 100 regime stress index for Iran. The score is rebuilt every ten minutes from twelve weighted indicators and the full history is kept, so the series can be read backwards as well as live. The twelve indicators cover civil unrest and protest activity,…from irancollapse.org

I simulated closing the Strait of Hormuz on real oil trade dataJul 2026 · globaloilnetwork.staffinganalytics.io · ▲244

OP here: I created this visualization tool as the byproduct of a supply chain class I taught at Columbia. The pedagogical exercise grew into a full blown visualization and paper about global oil trade. The model: The mechanics are the same as the financial network Eisenberg-Noe: Instead of banks, every country consumes oil interconnected via bilateral trading. Shocks propagate throughout the network, depleting oil reserves when bottleneck nodes (such as the Strait of Hormuz) are blocked. Insights: The interesting part is the mechanics of how the crisis unfolds: for example, France receives 0…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
