Kai - Your Explainable Investing Copilot

Decide like a committee, carry it in your pocket.

What it does

Kai is an early alpha and PLG wedge into Hushh: a consent-first copilot starting with explainable investing. Today it helps users review holdings and inspect positions through visible bull/bear reasoning and an encrypted vault. Over time, the same trust model can expand into a broader user world model, brokerage-linked workflows, and a wider personal data and action layer.

    I quit coding years ago. AI brought me backJan 2026 · calquio.com · ▲314

Quick background: I used to code. Studied it in school, wrote some projects, but eventually convinced myself I wasn't cut out for it. Too slow, too many bugs, imposter syndrome — the usual story. So I pivoted, ended up as an investment associate at an early-stage angel fund, and haven't written real code in years. Fast forward to now. I'm a Buffett nerd — big believer in compound interest as a mental model for life. I run compound interest calculations constantly. Not because I need to, but because watching numbers grow over 30-40 years keeps me patient when markets get wild. It's basically…

Investment monitoring tool for data nerds and privacy buffs2024 · mycapitally.com · ▲14

Hey HN, As someone who geeks out on both investment data and privacy tech, I built Capitally to scratch my own itch. It's encrypted on-device so that once I can afford to hire a second engineer, he cannot peek into my own data! I wanted a way to monitor ALL my investments (stocks, crypto, real estate, angel investments, etc.) in one place and really dig into the data - but without compromising my privacy. Here's how Capitally makes that possible: On the data side: Import data from CSVs, spreadsheets, or any other source via a flexible no-code editor Map any data format into a standardized…

    Kai – a private, offline AI "second brain" that remembers you(no cloud)2025 · oneeko.ai · ▲5

I built Kai because I was tired of assistants that forget and cloud tools that mine my data. Persistent memory: what you teach Kai sticks. Local-first: data never leaves your device; no telemetry. Transparent: memory graph shows what it knows and why. I’m looking for early users who care about local, privacy, and explainability. The landing page has a simple waitlist; I’ll onboard in small waves and share progress.
