World Cup team-building app: fun, live and slack-native.
What it does
I built Kickpot because distributed teams have almost no naturally shared cultural moments - and the World Cup is the biggest one of 2026. How it works: companies activate Kickpot for their workspace, employees tap a 30-second prediction before each match, three leaderboards reshuffle live during matches (person, team, office). Native Slack integration auto-posts daily standings and banter. Companies pay one flat fee for the Tournament - less than one offsite day. Not gambling, no wagers.

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it.
