Kompas AI
An alternative to ChatGPT’s deep research
Kompas AI launched on February 6, 2025 with 206 votes, #178 of 5,999 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
Kompas AI conducts multi-depth research across hundreds of web pages, saving you time by filtering out irrelevant data. It also streamlines long-form report creation and editing, allowing you to easily generate comprehensive insights.
Capture your ideas, connect them, and grow them into something you can actually use. AI that works alongside your thinking, not instead of it.
Your reading, your conversations, your half-formed ideas — gathered in one place, connected, and turned into work that is unmistakably yours. Start free. Move to Pro when you want sync and AI handled for you. We read more than ever, talk to AI all day, produce words by the thousand. And almost none of it stays with us. The feed scrolls past. The model answers, we nod, we close the tab. Nothing compounds — so we think the same thought again next week, from scratch. Kompas is a correction. Every session lands somewhere you can find again, connected to what you wrote before. Never sold, never used to train models. Just yours. You have circled this before — in session 009, you wrote that…from kompas.ai

I immediately started making games in my newfound free time (a lifelong interest, and I even worked in AA(A?) back ca. ~2000), and in October 2023 I stumbled upon the idea of a roguelike pachinko/plinko game inspired by Luck Be A Landlord. Things snowballed quickly, I started talking to publishers, then worked like crazy through all of 2024, almost the hardest I've ever worked in my career, and launched the game in December 2024.
