LibreScroll – enable flywheel-scrolling on any generic mouse

Based on the framerate-independent momentum simulation[0] that I used in my TPMouse script[1] If you've ever used a mouse with Infinite-scrollwheel such as Logitech, this utility for Windows basically recreates that functionality for any generic mouse. Actually, it's even better than that: this allows for simultaneous horizontal and vertical scrolling, so essentially it combines two of the best features of the Logitech MX Master -- horizontal wheel, and unlocked momentum scrolling -- into one intuitive control scheme. To enable horizontal scrolling, set the X-sensitivity to a value you…

In plain words

LibreScroll is a Windows utility that adds momentum scrolling to any standard computer mouse. It simulates the flywheel-scrolling found on premium mice like the Logitech MX Master, enabling smooth, physics-based scrolling that continues after the user stops scrolling. The tool supports both vertical and horizontal scrolling simultaneously, with adjustable sensitivity for each direction. It is designed for Windows users who want enhanced scrolling functionality without purchasing specialized hardware.

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

I saw this [0] pretty cool thread by user revskill, and wanted a quicker way to search through it, but also to keep them all in one place so I can read them at my leisure whenever I get time. Right now is like 60 lines of Ruby using Nokogiri, but I will certainly look into it further down the line and improve the list. There's a cronjob checking the thread every 12 hours but I will eventually shut that down and it will become static after that. There are some really awesome blogs in there. I really recommend going through the list, it made my day. [0] "Could you share your personal blog…
