Lit.money – Ethically designed to be a private, simple way to see money
Hey HN People, I know it's 2025, and you might be wondering why there's a need for a personal finance web app. I'd like to share my story and why I created lit.Money. During COVID, I started actively managing my finances, primarily optimizing for FIRE and monitoring my progress. There are apps in India, but I didn't like their UI. I don't like to exchange messages or call with accountant for bank details or transaction queries. I also wanted a simple way to view my partner's and family's finances in one place. I considered Copilot, but it wasn't available in India. While there are 1 or 2…
In plain words
Lit.money is a personal finance web app designed for privacy-conscious users in India who want to manage their money simply. It aggregates financial data from multiple accounts onto a single dashboard and allows users to share financial views with partners, family members, or accountants without exchanging sensitive banking details directly. The app prioritizes a clean interface and is built for people tracking financial goals like FIRE (financial independence, retire early).

While there are 1 or 2 good apps available, none offer financial view sharing with partners, family, or accountants. I wanted a simple, user-friendly web app, so I built lit.money (currently available as a web app). Some key features: - View all your data on a single screen, including the number of transactions and accounts - Delete all your data with a single click (no need to contact support or wait) - "Finspace" -> a financial space where you can share your finances with partners, family, or accountants with customizable permissions (read/write) and account visibility - Easily bulk edit transactions and export data I'm not trying to create the next big thing, just a simple project that provides real value. I would greatly appreciate your feedback! There's a DEMO MODE available to try it easily, or if you're busy, you can check out some videos (thanks to my wife, she made them): https://www.youtube.com/@litmoneyapp

- DEDouble-entry accounting based personal finance app2024 · getpaper.money · ▲63
Hello HN! I am Aswin Mohan, full-stack mobile + web developer and I built PaperMoney(https://getpaper.money). PaperMoney is a double-entry accounting based personal finance app. It can help you keep track of your expenses, assets, liabilities and your net-worth. It is based on the command-line tools beancount and ledger. I had been using beancount to track my expenses for over two years. The plain-text accounting and reporting with fava was great, but I wanted a mobile based app to keep track on the go. Looked around existing solutions but everything fell short when compared to…

Status Money is a new personal finance management (PFM) website that lets you anonymously compare your finances to millions of people. We've been working on it for over a year and would love your thoughts and feedback! Check it out at: https://statusmoney.com How it works: Status aggregates your financial accounts, syncs with your TransUnion credit file, and shows you how your spending, income, assets, debts, net worth, and credit score compare with people like you – these are people your age that live in your city and have an income, credit score, and housing situation that is…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz). The design is stack-based, fully pipelined, and preserves Python's dynamic typing without static type restrictions.…
