MAGA or Not? Political alignment scores for people and companies

I wanted a way for people to support companies and people that align with their political beliefs. Additionally, I think it can serve as a valuable, source-linked public ledger of who said and did what over time, especially as incentives change and people try to rewrite their positions. This is fully AI-coded, researched, and sourced. Additionally, AI helped develop the scoring system. What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

I wanted a way for people to support companies and people that align with their political beliefs. Additionally, I think it can serve as a valuable, source-linked public ledger of who said and did what over time, especially as incentives change and people try to rewrite their positions. This is fully AI-coded, researched, and sourced. Additionally, AI helped develop the scoring system. The evidence gathering is done by a number of different agents through OpenRouter that gather and classify source-backed claims. The point of that is not to pretend bias disappears, but to avoid me manually selecting the evidence myself. I intend for it to remain current and grow. The system is close to fully automated, though ongoing evidence collection at scale is still limited mostly by cost. The name is an homage to the early days of Web 1.0 and Hot or Not, which was a main competitor of mine as the creator of FaceTheJury.com, but I think it works well here. The backend and frontend are running on Cloudflare Workers with D1. It's coded in vanilla JavaScript.

    I removed politics from Twitter with AI2024 · mindfw.com · ▲40

I'm sure you all saw the debate a few days ago, alongside all the tech influencoors giving their mid-takes about politics. Doesn't it get tiring? That's why I built mindfirewall a chrome extension that uses AI to filter out tweets. You'll never have to see politics, war, or negativity on your timeline again. In the future you'll be shocked you even allowed this stuff into your brain in the first place. Let me know what you think below, does it feel too much like censorship? would you use this?

    Solving the ~95% legislative coverage gap using LLM'sDec 2025 · lustra.news · ▲41

Hi HN, I'm Jacek, the solo founder behind this project (Lustra). The Problem: 95% of legislation goes unnoticed because raw legal texts are unreadable. Media coverage is optimized for outrage, not insight. The Solution. I built a digital public infrastructure that: 1. Ingests & Sterilizes: Parses raw bills (PDF/XML) from US & PL APIs. Uses LLMs (Vertex AI, temp=0, strict JSON) to strip political spin. 2. Civic Algorithm: The main feed isn't sorted by an editorial board. It's sorted by user votes ("Shadow Parliament"). What the community cares about rises to the top. 3. Civic Projects:…

    Rank And File – a platform for employee activism2025 · rankandfile.me · ▲5

Friends, HNers , countrymen: tl;dr Employee Unions are dead (non-existent in tech). A collective where employees own shares in the company they work for should give a voice to the employees with the management. I am happy to launch Rank And File, a platform for employee activism. Think Institutional Investors but instead of suits, it is employees who own a large number of shares in their own company and act as a collective. R&F aims to provide a private forum for employees to discuss company policies and act as a platform where employees can connect with legal experts and activists who will…

    Contagious Beliefs–Simulating Political Alignment2024 · nonzerosum.games · ▲17

This is a simulation that allows you to test how beliefs are adopted based on pre-existing beliefs and how they spread through a population. It is entirely editable, so you can test your own parameters based on your own data or intuitions. A detail methodology can be found here: https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/mj68CsoLDoCfTgeiw/methodolog...

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

  • Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
