mixody

What it does

With mixody, everyone gets a say in the music. Guests can suggest songs, vote on tracks, and help shape the vibe collaboratively. Think of it as a smart, crowd-powered DJ tool that ensures your party's soundtrack is as inclusive as your guest list 🎉

Guests request and vote by QR code – no app download needed. You decide what actually plays. Guests scan the code or open the link – no download, no account required. Everyone suggests songs, everyone votes. The most popular requests move to the front. Blocklists, skip limits and fallback songs keep the vibe on track. Freeze the request list for a while when the playlist is already perfect. When nobody requests or votes, matching fallback tracks keep the music running and the mood consistent. For DJs with their own setup: guests request songs, you decide in the dashboard and play it yourself. Your own music collection as the party source: no streaming subscription, with requests and voting…from mixody.com

  Jukebox – Free, Open Source Group Playlist with Fair Queueing2025 · jukeboxhq.com · ▲122

Hey HN, I built Jukebox because I got frustrated with group music apps and Spotify’s limitations (not everyone has Spotify, and collaborative playlists are still too easily dominated by one person). Jukebox is a web app that lets you create a group queue—anyone can join via link, add YouTube songs, and the system automatically rotates songs so everyone gets a fair turn (no more playlist hogs). Web-based, no accounts, no installs. Drop in a YouTube link or search and add music instantly. Songs rotate in round-robin order (so even if one person adds ten songs, nobody else is skipped). Entirely…

  Lovable▲1,477

Hey HN! Previous CERN physicist turned hacker here. We've developed a way to make AI coding actually work by systematically identifying and fixing places where LLMs typically fail in full-stack development. Today we're launching as Lovable (previously gptengineer.app) since it's such a big change. The problem? AI writing code typically make small mistakes and then get stuck. Those who tried know the frustration. We fixed most of this by mapping out where LLMs fail in full-stack dev and engineering around those pitfalls with prompt chains. Thanks to this, in all comparisons I found with: v0,…

I built a(nother) house optimized for LAN parties▲1,117

I wasn't quite sure if this qualified as "Show HN" given you can't really download it and try it out. However, dang said[0]: > If it's hardware or something that's not so easy to try out over the internet, find a different way to show how it actually works—a video, for example, or a detailed post with photos. Hopefully I did that? Additionally, I've put code and a detailed guide for the netboot computer management setup on GitHub: https://github.com/kentonv/lanparty Anyway, if this shouldn't have been Show HN, I apologize!
