mm
Never choose what to work on again
What it does
mm answers one question — what now — with exactly one task. Mark what matters as a gate and mm won't offer you anything easier until it's done. Interrupts preempt, then unwind. Habits sync both ways with your Obsidian daily note. Zero dependencies, MIT.
mm is a free, open-source to-do list and habit tracker for the command line. It shows you exactly one task — and refuses to offer the easy ones until the work you said mattered is done. Zero dependencies, two-way Obsidian daily-note sync, MIT.
mm is a to-do list that shows you exactly one task — the one you said mattered. Everything easier stays out of reach until it is done. You still decide when to work; mm decides what. Zero dependencies Python 3.11+ MIT licensed macOS & Linux Your data stays in ~/.mm Every frame above is genuine output, recorded from the CLI by site/tools/capture.py . Nothing on this page is a mockup. Every list you keep is a choice you have to make again tomorrow. Ten open items is not ten tasks — it is ten arguments with yourself, and the one that wins is the easiest, not the one that mattered. Most tools respond by adding structure: priorities, tags, dates, four quadrants. That is more input to the same…from mm.tafil.app

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
