ModelSignature – Get end-user feedback for your OS AI models

I was surprised to learn that open source model providers never get feedback/reports from their actual end-users. Once you publish your OS model, you only get feedback from technical users who find the HF community tab or manage to email you directly. I wanted an easy way to tell the model provider mid conversation that their model sucks & why. I've been working on ModelSignature, a system that embeds a feedback URL (a “Model Signature”), directly into model weights using LoRA fine-tuning. Users can ask the chatbot "where can I report issues?" and the model responds with its…

What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

I was surprised to learn that open source model providers never get feedback/reports from their actual end-users. Once you publish your OS model, you only get feedback from technical users who find the HF community tab or manage to email you directly. I wanted an easy way to tell the model provider mid conversation that their model sucks & why. I've been working on ModelSignature, a system that embeds a feedback URL (a “Model Signature”), directly into model weights using LoRA fine-tuning. Users can ask the chatbot "where can I report issues?" and the model responds with its ModelSignature page for bug reports and feedback. Providers get a detailed feedback/reports overview. Takes about 30 minutes on a T4 GPU. Since it's embedded in the weights, it persists wherever the model gets deployed.

    Open-source turn detection model for voice AI2024 · ▲8

Hey HN, it’s Russ - cofounder of LiveKit. An open source stack for building realtime AI applications. We’re sharing our first homegrown AI model for turn detection. Here’s a live demo: https://cerebras.vercel.app/ Voice AI has come a long way in the last year. We now have end-to-end systems that can generate a response to user input in 300-500ms — human level speeds! As latency reduces, a common problem that surfaces is the LLM responds too quickly. Any time there’s a short pause in a user’s speech, it ends up interrupting them. This is largely due to how voice AI applications…

We (@emrenx and I) wanted a simple little tool that would help us get better feedback so we could move faster. We knew that anonymizing the data would help. For more research on this approach, check out 360-degree feedback http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/360-degree_feedback. http://pitchback.me/

    mybf.io - platform for software reviews with social network aspect2021 · ▲10

Hi! Recently I've launched - mybfio.io - platform for software reviews with social network aspect. Prehistory Many great system are already in place that allow people to search and rate software products, including the site I am publishing this post on. However I have always felt that those systems are not specifically centered around product/software development lifecycle (releases, real users feedback over a product entire lifetime, so on) and often too broad or not designed specifically for that type of work, which is ok. Why? As an opensource author I would like to have constant…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

  • Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

I went down the rabbit hole on a side project and ended up building this: Strange Attractors(https://blog.shashanktomar.com/posts/strange-attractors). It’s built with three.js. Working on it reminded me of the little "maths for fun" exercises I used to do while learning programming in early days. Just trying things out, getting fascinated and geeky, and being surprised by the results. I spent way too much time on this, but it was extreme fun. My favorite part: someone pointed me to the Simone Attractor on Threads. It is a 2D attractor and I asked GPT to extrapolate it to…

Hey all, I built this. It’s not trying to capture every autistic experience (that’d be impossible). It’s based on my own lived experience as well as that of friends on the spectrum. I'm trying to give people a feel for what masking, decision fatigue, and burnout can look like day-to-day. That’s hard to explain in words, but easier to show through choices and stats. I'm not trying to "define autism". I’ve gotten good feedback here about resilience, meds, and difficulty tuning. I’ll keep tweaking it. If even a few people walk away thinking, "ah, maybe that’s why my coworker struggles in those…
