Motifloom

Your personal Wikipedia — for everything you consume

What it does

Connect books, films, podcasts, games, articles, and noteObsidian gives you a graph of notes. Goodreads gives you a list of books. MotifLoom gives you a visual knowledge map of EVERYTHING - books, films, podcasts, games, articles, and links - all connected in one explorable graph. Pick any topic. Add what you've consumed. Draw relationships: "inspired by", "contradicts", "read before". The result is a living map that shows how ideas connect across media.

    I mapped HN's favorite books with GPT-4o2024 · hnbooks.pieterma.es · ▲285

Hey HN! I love finding new books to read on here. I wanted to gather the most mentioned books and recreate the serendipity of physical browsing. I scraped 20k comments from HN threads related to reading, extracted the references and opinions using GPT-4o mini, and visualised their embeddings as a map. - OpenAI's embeddings were processed using UMAP and HDBSCAN. A direct 2D projection from the text embeddings didn't yield visually interesting results. Instead, HDBSCAN is first applied on a high-dimensional projection. • Hey we are Computable. We spent years building trading infrastructure at Jump Trading and Coinbase. From that point of view, compute looks like energy markets before 2000: everything trades through private bilateral leases, there’s no visible price, and nothing can be resold. The same H100 rents at a 2x spread depending on who’s asking, and once you sign a 24-month lease, it can never change hands. So we built a market for GPU nodes, sold by the calendar week. Here are three things you can do on it that you can’t do anywhere else: - Buy exactly the weeks you need. Three nodes for the last…

Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!
