In plain words

A startup cofounder shares their DIY dual 30-inch sit-stand treadmill desk setup designed to combine work and movement in a small 5-by-7-foot space. The setup allows users to walk while working when energized and switch to sitting when fatigued, addressing the sedentary nature of office work. The configuration optimizes limited home office space by storing the office chair when not in use, creating a flexible workspace that accommodates both productivity and physical activity.

As the cofounder of a bootstrapped internet startup ( Leanpub , the best way to publish in-progress ebooks), I tend to work a lot. I’d much rather work than exercise. This has taken a toll on me though, so recently I set out to fix this. The solution was to create the ultimate home office sit-stand treadmill desk setup. Now, I have a pretty hard space constraint to work with: The dedicated floor space I have to work with is 5’ x 7’, plus I can move my office chair out of the way when unused. It’s the perfect way to work. When I have energy I walk. When I get tired I sit. And going from walking to sitting or from sitting to walking takes about 10 seconds. I…from peterarm.tumblr.com

I am a software developer and in the last few months after recently becoming a father I was barely finding time for a proper workout. Recently I was reading about new research on Snack Exercises and how beneficial mini workouts of less than 2mins every so often, during the day are to our body. So, I decided to build an iOS App for me and others to help with this. The app generates a list of exercises that I need to tick to complete daily or loose my streak. The algorithm takes into account muscle groups and balancing the exercises to hit most main muscles. I also stayed going through all…

Hey HN, I'm a solo developer and I built Steps: Workout & Pedometer, an iOS pedometer and workout tracker. Last week, two German iOS publications wrote about the app. I didn't pitch them. I didn't send a press release. I didn't even know it was happening. I woke up to a spike in downloads, checked the analytics, and traced it back to their articles. That coverage pushed the app past $1,000 in sales. I still have no idea how they found the app. I'm wondering if anyone here has experience getting featured in publications, whether organically or through outreach. What worked for you? Any tips…
