New approach for CI/CD/compute system
I've been tired with the current options on the market for awhile and decided to do something about it after the running into the disaster that is MLOps at my last two startups and having to manage a multiple operation platforms both for my fellow ML engineers, the general application CI/CD and orchestration layers while simultaneously building the application itself. Its still extremely early for the product but its functioning and is well on its way. I'd love feedback on the approach and peoples thoughts on the problem space. In plain words
This is an early-stage CI/CD and compute system designed to unify machine learning operations, general application deployment, and orchestration in a single platform. It targets ML engineers and developers frustrated with managing multiple fragmented tools and complex setup processes. The creator built it to reduce manual configuration, accelerate iteration cycles, and offer affordable pricing for solo projects and startups.

Personally my irritations have been in the poor tooling, slow iteration cycles, an the amount of manual setup that's needed just for a basic system with reasonable performance. I also wanted something that had a price point that is reasonable for solo projects, as I believe that's where most of the magic happens in our industry and I wanted something that supported those of us in that space while making it easier to contribute to projects by making it basically a single command to spin up the development environment. I've been pretty happy with the outcome so far, there are still a bunch of things we need to fix in upstream systems to really make it shine. But those issues are fairly straight forward technically just will take some time to get through the human portion of those issues.

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

I was at FB/Meta from late 2013 to early 2023, mostly working in the compiler/runtime spaces. I got hit in the spring 2023 layoff wave. I immediately started making games in my newfound free time (a lifelong interest, and I even worked in AA(A?) back ca. ~2000), and in October 2023 I stumbled upon the idea of a roguelike pachinko/plinko game inspired by Luck Be A Landlord. Things snowballed quickly, I started talking to publishers, then worked like crazy through all of 2024, almost the hardest I've ever worked in my career, and launched the game in December 2024. It's sold…

i wanted to change the habit of reaching for my phone in the morning and doomscrolling away an hour so i built an app to help me. now i have to literally touch grass before accessing my most distracting apps the app is built in swiftui, uses the screen time apis provided by apple and google vision to recognise grass or not i'd love to get your thoughts on the concept.
