What it does
Nina's Little Universe is a handmade, interactive science world I built for my five year old daughter. Children spin Earth to discover day and night, explore Moon phases and eclipses, experiment with light, and meet planets through touch-driven missions. It's bilingual in English and Albanian, free, and requires no account. What began as a personal project for Nina is now being used in schools, helping children learn by touching, testing, and discovering instead of passively watching.
Turn Nina’s cardboard Earth and discover why sunshine becomes nighttime. A little science adventure to explore together.
Hello, Nina! Let’s find out why the Sun seems to say hello… and goodbye. Real astronaut photographs of sunlight and shadow on our home. Find where day turns into night. The bright part faces the Sun. The dark part faces away. As Earth turns, our home moves between day and night. Earth spins once in about 24 hours. The side facing the Sun has daytime . The side facing away has nighttime . It spins around an axis tilted about 23.4°; that axis keeps pointing the same way through the year. Finished exploring together? Here’s a message ready to share with another grown-up. Only the activity is shared. No children’s names, photos, or contactfrom ninaslittleuniverse.com

A solar system simulation in the browserDec 2025 · luna.watermelonson.com · ▲13I didn't realize Universe Sandbox ran on MacOS, and I was in the mood to play around a bit. Some functions it's got: - Random system generation - Sonification is super fun too - Habitability Simulation (Just for fun, don't cite this please) - Replacing, spawning, deleting objects I've had tons of fun building this, so I hope someone else can share the joy. It's free and runs in the browser. I'd love to hear any feedback. I think this is at a state where I might leave it as it is, but if people are interested in other features, maybe I'll keep working on it. I've kept saying I'll stop working…
