Nogic – VS Code extension that visualizes your codebase as a graph
I built Nogic, a VSCode extension currently, because AI tools make code grow faster than developers can build a mental model by jumping between files. Exploring structure visually has been helping me onboard to unfamiliar codebases faster. It’s early and rough, but usable. Would love feedback on whether this is useful and what relationships are most valuable to visualize.

In plain words
Nogic is a Visual Studio Code extension that displays codebases as interactive graphs to help developers understand unfamiliar code structure. It visualizes relationships between files and code elements, making it easier to navigate large projects without jumping between individual files. The tool is designed for developers working with rapidly growing codebases, particularly those expanded by AI tools, and aims to speed up onboarding to new projects.

Extension for Visual Studio Code - Interactive code maps + AI walkthroughs powered by your local Claude Code or Codex CLI.
Turn your codebase into an interactive map you can ask questions about and walkthrough step-by-step. Review your uncommitted changes as diagrams grouped by intent. Each group gets a title, summary, and visualization explaining why the change is shaped that way, not just what changed. Use when: preparing a PR, onboarding a reviewer, or sanity-checking your own work before committing. Ask anything about your code in plain English. The cursor renders a diagram tailored to the answer and walks through it step by step. Follow-up questions extend the same diagram and walkthrough. Use when: you want to understand "how does X work" without reading every file, or explain a flow to someone else.…from marketplace.visualstudio.com

I'm Gabriel, the author of dep-tree (https://github.com/gabotechs/dep-tree), and I wanted to show off this tool and explain why it's being really useful at my current org for dealing with code complexity. I work at a startup where business evolves really fast, and requirements change frequently, so it's easy to end up with big piles of code stacked together without a clear structure, specially with tight deadlines. I made dep-tree [1] to help us maintain a clean code architecture and a logical separation of concerns between parts of the application, which is…

Hey HN! I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents. I didn't write a single line of code. Of course no-code doesn't mean no-engineering. This project took a lot more manual labor than I'd hoped! I wrote a deep dive on the workflow and some thoughts about the future of AI coding and creativity: http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc
