Not Yet

A pause between wanting and buying.

What it does

Most tools that try to stop impulse purchases focus on budgets, tracking, or control. Not Yet takes a different approach: it adds a short waiting period before a purchase and captures how you felt when you wanted it. When the time is up, you decide calmly - buy, don’t buy, or wait longer. There are no accounts, no onboarding, no charts, and intentional constraints (like fixed delays that can’t be shortened). The goal isn’t optimization- it’s emotional distance between impulse and action.

Hi HN, I’ve always struggled with impulse buying—that late-night Amazon scroll or the "deal" that's too good to pass up. I realized I was trading long-term goals for short-term dopamine hits. The core problem is the frictionlessness of modern e-commerce. To fight back, I built Nope It. It’s not just another budgeting app. It's a PWA designed to interrupt the impulse loop at the critical moment. Hey HN! I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents. I didn't write a single line of code. Of course no-code doesn't mean no-engineering. This project took a lot more manual labor than I'd hoped! I wrote a deep dive on the workflow and some thoughts about the future of AI coding and creativity: http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc
