Nuticast

Your iPhone, remote-paired to Xcode from any network

What it does

Nuticast bridges your iPhone to Xcode over Tailscale, ZeroTier, Netbird — or a manual IP — so you can debug wirelessly even when your Mac and iPhone aren't on the same network. Lives in your menu bar, zero config VPN required.

Debug your iPhone in Xcode when it isn’t on your Mac’s Wi‑Fi. The phone must stay on Wi‑Fi — cellular doesn’t work. Nuticast keeps wireless debugging alive over Tailscale, ZeroTier, or Netbird — no cable, no account.

Apple’s wireless debugging dies the moment your Mac and iPhone aren’t on the same network. Nuticast keeps the device visible so Xcode can debug it remotely — over whichever mesh VPN you already run: Tailscale, ZeroTier, or Netbird. The iPhone must stay on Wi‑Fi (home, a tester’s office, another building). Cellular doesn’t work. macOS 13.0 + · Tailscale, ZeroTier, or Netbird on Mac & iPhone · iPhone on Wi‑Fi, not cellular Pair while you’re on the same Wi‑Fi. When the phone joins another Wi‑Fi, flip the bridge on. Match that phone to its device on Tailscale, ZeroTier, or Netbird. When it’s on another Wi‑Fi, start the bridge — Xcode keeps seeing it. Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
