In plain words

Oberon System 3 is a native operating system designed for Raspberry Pi 3, available as a pre-configured SD card. It runs directly on the hardware without requiring another OS layer. The system is intended for users interested in running Oberon—a programming language and environment—on single-board computers. It appeals to developers and hobbyists exploring alternative computing platforms and lightweight systems.

Finally I found the time to properly integrate, test and debug my OP2 version into the Oberon System. I made some attempts earlier but found a crash on ARMv7 when running Compiler.Compile. That was pretty misterious since I use the same compiler to build the whole system (but transpiled to C); as it turned out, I forgot to initialize a pointer variable in OPP which caused a crash when run on the Oberon System, but not when run as a C program; took some time to trace down, but now it works. I successfully tested OP2 on i386 and arm32 QEMU and on the Raspi Zero 2. I also fixed an…from github.com

I've made an ARM based single-board computer that runs Android and Linux, and has the same size as the Raspberry Pi 3! Why? I was bored during my 2-week high-school vacation and wanted to improve my skills, while adding a bit to the open-source community :P These were the specs I ended up with: - H3 SoC - Quad-Core Cortex-A7 ARM CPU @ 1.3GHz - Mali400 MP2 GPU @ 600MHz - 512MiB of DDR3 RAM (Can be upgraded to 1GiB) - WiFi, Bluetooth & Ethernet PHY - HDMI display port - 1080p resolution - 5x USB Slots: 2x USB-A, 1x USB-C Host, 1x USB-C Host & OTG, 1x USB-C PD for power (Negotiating up to 25W.…

I've been hacking away lately, and I'm now proud to show off my newest project - The Icepi Zero! In case you don't know what an FPGA is, this phrase summarizes it perfectly: "FPGAs work like this. You don't tell them what to do, you tell them what to BE." You don't program them, but you rewrite the circuits they contain! So I've made a PCB that carries an ECP5 FPGA, and has a raspberry pi zero footprint. It also has a few improvements! Notably the 2 USB b ports are replaced with 3 USB C ports, and it has multiple LEDs. This board can output HDMI, read from a uSD, use a SDRAM and much more.…
