What it does
I built Oneirism because most dream journals stop at writing things down. I wanted something that also helps with the actual practice of lucid dreaming. You can record dreams by voice or text, practice MILD, WILD and WBTB, get customizable reality-check reminders, and look for patterns over time. Everything is private by design: no account, no ads, no servers of mine, and no subscription.

Oneirism is a lucid dream journal for iPhone built to help you remember more dreams, recognise recurring dream signs and keep a consistent lucid dreaming practice through MILD and attentive reality checks. Dream details disappear quickly once the day begins. Record them as soon as you wake, by text or by voice when typing feels like too much. Give every fragment the same place to go. Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
